The work of Sofia Rocchetti explores what we are but do not wish to show: aggression and its multiple forms and colours. Her paintings make geometry, volume and three-dimensionality into elements of a surreal and intimate anthropomorphism. A profound, atavistic and endemic reality, first deconstructed and then recomposed from those signs that find their greatest expression in pure pigment and the light that naturally transpires from the paper support.
The honeycomb panel on which Sofia Rocchetti’s paintings are mounted provides the functional solidity required by the delicate nature of the technique, while also freeing the eyes and interpretation from any perceptive constraints and creating that direct contact which is inevitably altered by the presence of frames.
"Composizione Rosso-Blu", with its extraordinary visual impact, relies on the two primary colours red and blue to reach the origins of emotive awareness, through the forms that give character and style to Sofia Rocchetti’s work: straight lines that intersect at a point outside of the painted space, curves that can be grasped by the touch of light and wedges softened by shadows.
Technique: contemporary pictorial work, created with the pure pigment technique on paper mounted on a honeycomb panel.
Dimensions: each panel measures 33 cm x 33 cm. Recommended space between the panels: at least 3-4 cm. Overall space occupied on the wall: 111 cm in height (including the distances between the panels) and 33 cm in width.
Each pictorial work is mounted on a honeycomb panel to protect it from problems of humidity on the walls where the work is hung; it is advisable, however, to avoid any sources of moisture as the work could become irreparably damaged over time.
The work is mounted flush on a honeycomb panel: the corners are particularly fragile. Therefore, avoid damaging them because it is not possible to restore them.
We recommend placing the work away from direct sunlight.
How to hang the work: drill a hole in the wall at the point where you want to hang the work and insert a wall plug of at least 4-5 cm in length. Insert a screw in the wall plug large enough to protrude from the wall by about 2 cm. Position the work so that the head of the screw sits in the hole provided in the honeycomb panel.
With works composed of several panels, we recommend hanging the pictures at the same level and the same distance apart for a better visual effect.
Cleaning: to remove any dust that may accumulate on the surface of the work, simply use a soft brush. Never use sponges, rags or other implements as they may be abrasive. Never use damp cloths.
