The silhouette is inspired by a distant Latin past, with a reinterpretation of dimensions and function. Although this form was intended for daily use in antiquity, Nicoletta Staibano has assigned a decorative aesthetic role to this almost statuesque decorative jug, designed to be the focal point of the room it enhances. The pastel shades of the decoration are emphasised by the thick casting of sky-blue Murano glass, which embraces the fullness of the shape and highlights the particular painting technique. Halfway between glass and ceramics, this work of art lends itself as an accompaniment to any furnishing style.Any relief effects, irregularities, slight cracks in the enamelled surface, bubbles or small craters are part of the artist’s stylistic experimentation, therefore their presence on the work is testimony to its uniqueness.
