With the Chameleon Vase, Rita Miranda unites her art and language with design in order to also respond to the calls of functionality and decoration.
Two small, silvery creatures, like curious guardians, peer over the edge of the smoothed and smoke fired abyss/crater, as if in the desire to inspect and keep guard over not only whatever it may contain, but also the weight of experience and communicative power that Rita Miranda expresses in all her creations.
Each individual item by Rita Miranda is unique and inimitable: any tiny variations in the shapes or colours are intrinsic characteristics of the technique adopted by the artist (raku and porcelain) and can be considered an added value and testament to work done entirely by hand.
Technique: slab construction, raku technique, smoke firing
Cleaning, maintenance, care: to remove any dust residues that may accumulate, simply use an ordinary dusting cloth or, at most, a slightly damp cloth. Do not use chemical products as these can alter the original appearance of the work. Do not expose to direct sunlight. Do not display outdoors.
