Empatia is a jewellery collection that shifts the dialogue between two different cultures and arts onto a plane of lightness, delicacy, and reflection.
With her porcelain, Rita Miranda has entered into the dialectic of Haruko Ito, the artist and goldsmith who settled in Milan after moving from Japan.
As the name of the collection suggests, Empatia (empathy) replaces the word with material and expresses an understood, sometimes shared, state of mind; it is an inner, harmonious merging of talents which also reveals an aesthetic affinity.
Empatia consists of BAMBOO, SHELL and WA
Every budding life is held in a shell whose strength lies in its natural predisposition to shelter and protect. In its SHELL series, the Empatia jewellery collection reveals the intimate desire for birth and rebirth in the material dialogue between bronze and porcelain. The delicate porcelain forms, which seem almost fragile and ephemeral, are harboured within the spaces of the bronze structures, giving the merest glimpse of the overwhelming audacity of existence.
Double finger ring, in bronze and white porcelain - medium.
Every piece of jewellery in the Empatia collection is unique and inimitable: any tiny variations in the shapes or colours are intrinsic characteristics of the technique adopted by the artist and can be considered an added value and testament to work done entirely by hand.
